Technology Update Reduces Cost, Improves Time to Market and Improves Quality
MobileCast Media Upgrades to Sony CineAtla Video
Technology Developed by George Lucas
PALO ALTO, Calif., February 23, 2008 -- MobileCast Media is pleased to announce acquisition of Sony's latest CineAlta technology which improves time to market, reduces cost and improves quality. "A lot of customers have us shoot footage, but realize later that they have many other uses for the footage" says John Houghton, CEO of MobileCast Media. "If the footage was shot in Standard Definition, it wouldn't be usable in most modern applications, including TV. I can't tell you how many times our clients have thanked us for shooting with the best equipment possible, because it makes the footage future proof."
CineAlta is a camera line that was developed in part by George Lucas and was used to shoot Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones in 2002. This camera is one of the first of it's kind to shoot to memory, eliminating a point of failure and shoot full frame high resolution at 1920x1080 pixels (most cameras only shoot 1440x1080). Memory based shooting also allows instant playback which normally isn't attempted because of fear of recording over existing footage.
